November 28, 2015 - Counterparts officially announces our next show at the recently remodeled 3rd & Lindsley, in downtown Nashville, TN. There will be an opening act, and we will go on at 9:30pm. Please stay tuned for more information.

April 17, 2015 - Counterparts would like to officially announce our return to the stage at Nashville's Exit\In on July 24, 2015. The band has not performed live in over four years, and will feature Scott Gravil as our Lerxst. Our previous guitarist, Pete Neyra, has relocated to Florida, and is enjoying playing in a brilliant Styx tribute band that is touring the southeast. He will definitely be missed, however, we wish him the absolute best in his endeavors. Scott has experience playing in an Ozzy Ozbourne tribute band in Kentucky, and also played in the RUSH tribute band, 2112, located in Cleveland, OH. He compliments the band quite nicely, and we have no doubt you will welcome him to the stage.

October 1, 2010 - After a 2+ year hiatus, Counterparts will be performing at the Exit In, in downtown Nashville, TN on October 22nd.  The band has had many reasons for taking such a long time off, but everyone is excited to playing together again.  We hope everyone had an opportunity to catch Rush on their latest "Time Machine" tour at least once.  (That will be the theme of our stage props.)  The show will start around 9 p.m., and will feature music from the debut album through Snakes & Arrows.  We hope to see you all there!

June 30, 2008 - Craig and Pete attended the Rush concert at Cincinnati's Riverbend Amphitheater on the 2nd leg of the Snakes and Arrows tour, and had the opportunity to meet Geddy and Alex.  Rush later took the stage and played yet another brilliant show.

June 26, 2008 - Counterparts will be playing at Nashville's historic Exit In, again on Saturday, August 30th.  The band will promptly take the stage at 9 p.m., so please don't be late.  Our set runs just over 3 hours and spans from the 1974 debut all the way up to Snakes and Arrows.

May 11, 2008 - Rush's original drummer, John Rutsey, passed away.

Statement from Alex and Geddy regarding the passing of John Rutsey:

Our memories of the early years of Rush when John was in the band are very fond to us. Those years spent in our teens dreaming of one day doing what we continue to do decades later are special. Although our paths diverged many years ago, we smile today, thinking back on those exciting times and remembering John's wonderful sense of humour and impeccable timing. He will be deeply missed by all he touched.

Alex & Geddy

Donations may be made in Johnís memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 7100 Woodbine Avenue, Suite 311, Markham, ON, L3R 5J2 (online: www.jdrf.ca, by phone: 905-944-4631).

February 29,  2008 - The gallery's been updated (finally) with the pictures from the March 16, 2007 show.  Quite a while ago, our (incredible) photographer, C.Dukeshier, turned over a cd-rom with the raw files on it, which need to be converted and cropped for use.  Those files were misplaced on a hard drive and fortunately were found today.  Have a look and let us know what you think.

Along with the new photo album, you'll also find a few audio tracks that were recorded straight from the board during our last show at the Exit\In on February 16, 2008 uploaded in the Multimedia section.  There's also a link of a video recorded during La Villa Strangiato that features Pete's solo work.

The over-haul of the webpage is about complete.  There's still a few minor tweaks that need to be made, but at least the site is functional.  Thank you for your patience!

February 20,  2008 - Counterparts played this past Saturday night at the Exit\In in Nashville, TN.  We had a great crowd, and a great time!  (This was the most we've seen the audience into the music!!!)  The band introduced several new songs to the show, including 3 songs from Snakes & Arrows, a couple from Rush's debut, and one from Hold Your Fire.  We hope to have pictures uploaded in the gallery, not to mention audio tracks and video tracks loaded soon.

If you're stumbling around on the site, please just hit "Home" on the page your on to bring you back to the main page.  This site is under a major over-haul, and will be completed ASAP!

January 23, 2008 - We'd like to apologize for the previous news update.  At the time that it was posted, it was rumored that Rush would be playing Memphis.  As of today, the actual tour dates are posted on Rush.com, and there are no Tennessee dates listed.  (Let's keep our fingers crossed for another R30-type miracle, as when Rush announced that Nashville would be the opening date after the other dates had been confirmed.)  And, of course, since Rush is currently skipping Tennessee, Counterparts would like to invite everyone to come check us out.  We've got some new surprises in the set list to continue with your fix until you can see the real band once again.

January 6, 2008 - Happy New Year to everyone!  It's been quite a while since this site has been updated, and we'd like to apologize for that.  There's been quite a bit going on since the last update and the band's last show, and the band has taken quite the hiatus.  We are ending that by playing on February 16th at the Exit In in Nashville (it's a Saturday night, so no excuses).  Rush skipped Nashville on the first leg of the Snakes & Arrows tour, and the closest they'll get on the second half of the tour is Memphis.  So, if you can't make that show, or just need a fix until that show, we'd like to see you there.

March 18, 2007 - We finally have songs posted in the Multimedia section.  The playing/recording isn't quite as perfect as we would like, however, it's a small insight as to what we sound like live.

March 17, 2007 - Far Cry is now available in the U.S. on iTunes.  Go out and buy it and request it on your local radio stations!!!

March 16, 2007 - Counterparts plays to a great crowd, once again at Nashville's 12th & Porter.  Thanks to everyone who showed up...you guys were truly into the music and the band fed off your energy!

March 9, 2007 - For those sleeping under the proverbial rock and haven't heard, Rush has a new single, entitled Far Cry that is going to be released on March 12th.  Visit this page for a 45-second snippet of the new track from the up-coming Snakes & Arrows, which is also a bit longer than the 5 second bit on Rush.com.  The single will be available for download this Monday morning at 6 a.m.  It also looks like Hugh Syme has created yet another masterpiece to boot.  (Make sure you request this song as much as possible on your local radio stations!)

February 6, 2007 - There was yet another scheduling issue with 12th & Porter.  Apparently, the club has a country music showcase set for the entire week, ending on March 2nd.  We could have played that show, but we would not have been able to get in and set up, then sound-check until 9 p.m., putting our starting time off around 11 p.m.  The next available date was Friday March 16th, so we grabbed it.  Sorry for the moving schedules, we have people that have had to re-arrange their flight information a couple of times now, so we understand the hassle!

January 31, 2007 - There was a scheduling issue with 12th & Porter.  So, the next gig has been moved to Friday, March 2nd.  Sorry for the delay - better late than never!

January 22, 2007 - The band has taken a bit of a break, but we are hard at work preparing for our next showcase, which will be at 12th & Porter on February 16th.  Hope to see you all there!

January 1, 2007 - Happy New Year!

August 1, 2006 - the band is working on some "new" material, and trying to find some new limbs to play all the parts with.  There's a new set of photos from the last show that will be added very soon.  Check back for updates and plans for the next show!

June 23, 2006 - Thanks to everyone who came out to the show!  The band had a great time and was in top form.  Thanks again to 12th & Porter and, as always, everyone who helped out with the show...we couldn't do it without you!

June 13, 2006 - We apologize for the site being down.  We switched web hosting companies and had trouble getting the previous hosting company to release the access codes to move the domain.

June 13, 2006 - Rush releases REPLAY X 3, which is the official release of the three vintage concert videos (Exit Stage Left, Grace Under Pressure and A Show of Hands - with a audio cd of the GUP show) re-mastered onto DVD.  Best Buy is selling it for $24.99 and has a 4 song bonus on the audio cd.  Circuit City is selling it for $34.99, but is offering a free poster (while supplies last).

May 17, 2006 - The site may be down for a short while until we can get it moved to a new hosting company.

May 4, 2006 - Counterparts would like to announce their next Nashville appearance again at 12th & Porter.  If you missed the last show, you need to be there.  12th & Porter is the best sounding club in Nashville, and provides a great atmosphere for the show!

April 16, 2006 - Last night's gig was a blast.  Thank you to everyone who came out, and Happy Easter everybody!!!

March 15, 2006 - Counterparts would like to announce that their next performance will be at Nashville's 12th & Porter on April 15th (Tax Day).  The show will be 21+ and should get started right around 9 p.m.  The band has been working on new material, and will be Pete's first appearance with the band.  We hope to see you there!

December 11, 2005 - Counterparts would like to introduce the newest member of the band,   Pete Neyra on guitars and pedals, from Dayton, OH.  Pete's been a fan of Rush since the days of Caress of Steel and brings 30 years of experience to the band.  Stay tuned for an announcement of our next gig.

October 22, 2005 - Stay tuned for an upcoming announcement!

July 11, 2005 - The gallery has  been updated to show 30 pictures from the Gibson Showcase!

July 8, 2005 - Thanks to everyone that came out to watch the show and to support the Chris Davis Memorial Fund - you guys made a difference!  Proceeds in the amount of $1,000 from the show was donated to the fund on July 7th.  This money will go to Chris's wife and two children (8 and 1 years old)

Please stop by any local AmSouth bank to make any more donations!

June 27, 2005 - A portion of the proceeds from this show will be donated to the Chris Davis Memorial Fund.  There will a donation box and a raffle for Rush prizes that will be donated as well.  Chris Davis's life was tragically ended this past Father's Day, while working at the Shoe Carnival in Rivergate, just north of Nashville.  Chris leaves behind a wife and two young children.  Click here for the full story.  Listen to the the Rock for more details.

June 15, 2005 - We got word from the Rock, 105.9FM that they will be backing us once again!   Listen to the Rock the week before our show for chances to win tickets!  And in honor of Independence Day, show your military ID (past or present) for FREE admission.  Also, there will be free contest for Rush prizes between sets.  Just make sure you sign-in when you come into the club for your chance to win (you will need to be present to win and claim your prize).

June 13, 2005 - Rumor has it that the Gibson Showcase will have a new PA system by the time the show rolls around.  This is only going to make an awesome club sound better!

June 6, 2005 - So much has happened since the last update.  The band has been gearing up for the next show on July 2nd at the Gibson Showcase up at the Opry Mills Mall.  This venue will offer a full menu, a full liquor bar, and plenty of seating for those who want to hang back.  Please share the word with anyone you know that missed the last show (we've heard there's quite a few of you out there!).

May 26, 2005 - One year anniversary of the kickoff of the R30 tour here in Nashville, TN.  (That was already a year  ago???)

April 10, 2005 - Recorded new demos of Analog Kid, Limelight and Spirit of Radio.

March 12,  2005 - 51 pictures have been uploaded to the gallery of last week's show at the Exit/In.  During this past week, we have had several people sign up for the email list, however, a few people neglected to include their email addresses.  If you did not receive a confirmation response, please re-submit your information.

March 6,  2005 - Thank you to everyone that came out to last night's show!  We had an great crowd that stayed with us through both sets.  It was great to meet so many of you after the show.  We hope to see you again some time very soon!  Please sign up to the email list if you have not already done so to keep up-to-date as to any appearances by the band.

January 1, 2005 - Well, a lot has happened since the last update.  A couple of members of the band have gone through some job changes, and some of that has interrupted the band's rehearsal schedule.  Once things settled down, the band was again able to again focus on their setlist.

May 26, 2004 - The band Limelight from New York/New Jersey was announced as the winning band for the RushCon 4 Tribute Band Contest.  Counterparts ranked 3rd overall in the judging.  This put the band only 9 points behind Limelight which amounted only to a 2% point difference in their scoring system.

May  26, 2004 - Rush kicked off their 30th anniversary tour right here in Nashville.  Special thanks to Tracy (Neil_Peart_Gal) and Rob (Quiet Rebellion) of the Counterparts boards for Craig and Thirdstone's Brian Pinta having the opportunity to meet Geddy and Alex before the show.  (Alex's big smile was in part to our very short conversation of Alex's appearance on the 3rd season of Trailer Park Boys.)

April 13, 2004 - The band has sent a submission to RushCon 4 for the tribute band contest!  Three songs were quickly recorded, pictures were taken and the entire package over-nighted to California for judging.  The songs that were submitted for the contest will be posted in the coming days...stay tuned for that and info on the contest.

April 4, 2004 - The hiatus from practicing has refreshed the band.  The first time together in a week and a half showed no wear on the music.  Counterparts discussed attempting to record a demo to submit to RushCon 4 for the Tribute Band Contest....stay tuned for news on that.

March 2004 - March has proven to be a difficult month to rehearse on our 4 night-a-week schedule that we've been committed to, for one reason or another.  Looking forward to things settling down a bit.  Curtis traveled to Maryland, and Craig visited friends and family in Florida for a week.  While in Florida, Craig was called up on stage by Nation's, front man, Jim Dorian , to play "Limelight".
